Just like Mike, you part of the first generation of bodyboarders and respected by not only your past performances, but also because you continue to rip it up. How do you explain your longevity?

In Hawaii, the ocean is part of our lives. In France, we spend 6 hours around the family table every Sunday, over there, it’s the same thing, but at the beach. After, there is my passion for the ocean and waves. Today, I don’t have the same “burning fires”, but still, when I’m at home, notably at Off-the-Wall, and Lackey, Mason Rose, Roach, the Hubbard brothers and the rest of the in crowd, I like to continue measuring myself against them. Fat pig as I am, I’m not that far behind. A come back? Not really. Maybe a couple contests here and there for my pleasure, why not!!

You just signed with TOYS bodyboard. Tell us what that’s about.

Signing, well that’s something else. Will George and Aka Lyman are kids I’ve known for a long time and I really like. I believe in their future, marketing and with a shaper like Pete Anaya, perhaps one of the top three in the world, it’s just incredible. It’s more like, With a firm handshake, I back them up all the way, with pride and pleasure.

Why did you choose to support SEN NO SEN?

Perhaps because they remind me of the mentality at TOYS. SNS is the brand that does the most, the logos, the colors, certainly the parties and video premieres are all positive for our sport. There you go, the honest truth!

You’ve been living in France for a while now, what do you appreciate about it ?

A good French wine, hahhahaha. In general, I think once you find some good friends, they stay that way. The women = MIGRAINE headaches !! The FOOD !!

Will we have the luck to see you in the next Sen No Sen video ?

Yes and no ? Unfortunately, I’m recovering from a herniated disk. No surf for another several weeks. But I’m super motivated to get back out there.

For the kids, tell us about the cat killing rumors circulating around you ?

I don’t kill cats, but I like eating them.. (pussy cat)

Any future projects?

Couple of surf trips. I don’t know where just yet. Maybe a really long trip again to Hawaii. Sen No Sen in Hawaii, YEAH MAN!!!!

INTERVIEW EN FRANCAIS

Comme Mike Stewart tu fais parti de la toute premiere génétation de bodyboarders et tout comme Mike tu es l'un des plus respecté par tes performance passée mais aussi parce que tu continues a tout déchirer a l'eau, comment expliques tu ta longévité?

A hawaii, la mer faites partie de notre vie. En france, on passe 6 heures a table les dimanche, la bas, c'est la meme chose, mais a la plage. Apres, il y a certainement ma passion pour les vagues. Aujourd'hui, j'ai pas la meme « fire », mais quand meme, quand je suis chez moi, notamment a off the wall, et Lackey, Mason Rose, Roach, les Hubbards et tout le beau monde, j'adore continue de me mesurée contre eu. Gros porc comme je suis, je ne suis pas trop loin derrier quand meme.. Come back ?? Pas vraiment. Qq competes pour la plaisir, pour quoi pas !!

Tu viens de signer chez TOYS bodyboards, tu peux nous en parler ?

Signer c'est quelque chose. Plutot, Will George et Aka Lyman sont des kids que j'aime beaucoup. Je crois bien dans leur avenir, marketing et quand tu as un shaper comme Pete Anaya que fait parti des 3 meilleurs shapers au monde, c'est incroyable. Donc je leur donnes plutot un coup de main, mais avec tres grand plaisir.

Pourquoi avoir choisi de soutenir SEN NO SEN ?

C'est comme chez Toys. C'est vraiment la marque qui bouge le plus et les logos, les couleurs et certainement les fetes, les filmes, sont tres positif pour notre sport. There you go,, honest truth..

Tu vis en France depuis un moment, qu'apprécies tu le plus ici ?

Un bon vin francais.. hahaha. En generale, des que tu trouves des bon potes, il y sont pour toujours. Les women = MIGRANE !! La nourriture…

A-t-on des chances de voir une séquence de toi dans la prochaine vidéo Sen No Sen ?

Oui et non. Malheureusement, je souffre d'un hernie discale. Pas de surfe pour encore qq semaines. Mais je suis hyper motive quand meme..

Pour les plus jeunes, peux tu nous parler de ces histoires de tueur de chat qui circulent sur ton compte ?

Des projets a venir ?

Quelques voyages, je ne sais pas ou. Peut etre un tres, tres longue sejour a nouveau a hawaii. Sen No Sen a Hawaii, YES MAN !
